Who We Are

The Aquaculture Association of Kenya (AAK) is the National umbrella body of all fish farmers in Kenya. The organisation was formed to bring together all fish farmers in Kenya with the sole purpose of providing them with one voice on common issues affecting them. The organisation would hence provide the farmers with a platform where they would discuss amongst themselves and with other stakeholders regarding the various issues affecting them. The platform would also give leeway to linkages between farmers, the government and other development partners.

The association aims to empower aquaculture farmers economically, with the main focus being on increasing income, improving healthy living and creating jobs. It also aims at enhancing its role in the agricultural sector through increased food security and networking fish farmers, in terms of marketing and research.

AAK role to its members

· To act as a link between AAK members, the government and other stakeholders at the national and international level

·   To build the capacity of AAK members on organisational development, aquaculture, value addition and marketing.

· To voice the interests of the farmers on issues relating to production and Marketing towards a sustainable aquaculture enterprise.
